Ivy Han

Ivy Han was born in Seoul in South Korea and now lives in Maui, Hawaii with her husband, two sons, and their dog. She moved there from New York because of her love for kitesurfing, which slowly became not just a sport but a way of life connected to the ocean and nature.

She has loved drawing since she was young. Instead of paying attention in class, she filled her notebooks with small drawings and stories. That habit stayed with her, and today her comics still feel like a continuation of her childhood.

In 2017, she started “Kitetoon” as a simple project to share moments from kitesurfing. Over time, it grew into something more personal, including everyday life, family, and small emotions.

Ivy first studied fashion illustration, but it didn’t feel right for her. She then tried fine art, but still felt limited. In the end, she let go of what she had learned and started drawing in her own way, which helped her find her style.

Her artwork is now used on various products. At the same time, her life in Hawaii has become slower and more peaceful. She grows vegetables, raises chickens, practices yoga, and goes surfing when the waves are good. Living close to the ocean continues to shape both her daily life and her art.
