Ivy Han

Ivy Han was born in Seoul, South Korea, and currently resides in Hawaii with her husband, son, and their dog. Her love for kitesurfing inspired her move from New York to the windy island of Maui. With a passion for kitesurfing, surfing, the ocean, and nature, relocating to Hawaii was a significant and rewarding decision.

From a young age, Ivy dreamed of becoming a cartoonist. She would secretly draw in class, crafting speech bubbles and stories. Today, she brings those early dreams to life through her comics. Her project, "Kitetoon," which began with a focus on her sports interests, has evolved to encompass a wide range of personal stories and continues to present new challenges.

Ivy's artistic journey began with fashion design. She initially prepared for a career in fashion design illustration but soon realized it wasn’t the type of art she truly wanted to create. The systematic nature of fashion design felt limiting, so she transitioned to fine art.

Despite this shift, fine art drawing also didn’t align with her artistic vision. Ivy decided to paint the pictures she genuinely wanted to create, rather than just conforming to conventional standards. Dissatisfied with traditional drawing norms, she erased everything and began drawing from her own feelings, leading to her unique style.

A lifelong artist, Ivy is deeply passionate about drawing and aims to bring joy to everyone through her cartoons and comics. In addition to her comics, she has designed app stickers and published several apps in the App Store. Ivy enjoys collaborating on various projects and is particularly fond of creating custom cartoons that capture unique moments for others. Her works are expected to increase in number.

When she began working on "Kitecartoon," in 2017, it transformed her life, providing immense joy as she drew from her own experiences. Today, Ivy offers a line of merchandise featuring her unique artwork, which appeals to both children and adults.
She now lives happily in Hawaii, growing vegetables, raising chickens, and collecting eggs—enjoying a fulfilling life after spending so many years in the city. As she continues to embrace this new way of life, her art will undoubtedly evolve further.
